THIS PAGE IS UNCLASSIFIED AfMOVED 1JUNENSI NCLASSIFIED AIR INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION REPORT QFPICB OP UlTRLLIOEKCE JAMSS COftBALLX AIR FORCE BASE REPORT NO. IR-2-62 PAGE OF PAGES Tho objects appeared in a group of 50 to ?5. They were of a ereylBh-whit metallic nature and dieo-like In shape. Th objects were in a oiroular formation* the whole formation covering an area comparable to the visual space of a *full jaoon". They wr not spaced in any particular geometrical manner but seemed to keep a comparatively equal distance between oaoh other. , There was no sound twitted and the speed of the group was not estimated. There was no trail or exhaust and the type of propulsion was not lcnowu. At regularly spaced intervale of tine, which wefe estimated to have been between 12 and 15 seconds, vtor/, disc-like object in the formation seeded to tilt fro* one aide to the other Ipri a horisontal\axis flashing in exact unison* Bach flash or tilt lasted about Z seconds. The action resembled the movement of the slats of a Venetian blind when rocked up and down horitontally. Af^er the first two (2) minutes of observation the cluster ,of objocts seemed to lessen in^nuaber in the center of the circle while becoming aore dense on the outer ritt. From thoir original position, 30 to 40 above the horizon la the north- north western sky, where the objects woro first sighted, they moved1 upward on the horison about 6 and approximately 10 to 16 horizontally. During the entire observation the objects continued their rhythaic tilting at intervals of 12 to 16 seconds, ifoving away froa the observer at the approximate angle of observation the objects gradually faded out of sight. The cluster of objeots were first sighted by the observer on April 166? at 1409 hours and were under his observation for 3 minutes and SO seconds* the , formation was estimated to have been approximately 15 or 25 miles away at an elevation of 90 to 40 above the horizon. , i The geographies, 1 coordinates of the observer*s location are 31^ 0&1 -9V 24''# and 50[* seconds west. This Is the approximate location of Draughan - V.iller AFB at 7eaple, Texas. The weather in this area''at the tlae nf observation was aw followst clear with 15<uiles visibility - 6 &PH wind from southwst - temp. 85 and dew poiot .52. There were no unusual aueteorological activities or conditions at the time of sighting* nor are there any fragments or physical evidence other than Mr. Russell''!s drafwiog of, the foraatlon in flight which has been photostated for uce ata an ure. There has been no Identification action taken. A/ZC RANDOLPH L. SIMAiOJJS Intelligence Specialist 1ST LT, UBAF O^''ICEE IS CHANGE DOWNGRADE DECLASSI AT 8 YEAR iWtliR\'' \U: D AFTER 12 TEARS.
